In January I joined the WordPress Bloganuary challenge, which was to post a blog post every day in January based upon the daily writing prompts they provided.
Well, I failed the challenge. I only managed to write posts for the first 12 days. (See below)
Day 1: What is something you want to achieve this year?
Day 2: How are you brave?
Day 3: What is the earliest memory you have?
Day 4: What is treasure that’s been lost?
Day 5: What brings joy to your life?
Day 6: Why do you write?
Day 7: Write a short story or poem about rain?
Day 8: How far back in your family tree can you go back?
Day 9: What is the most memorable gift you have received?
Day 10: Has a book changed your life?
Day 11: How do define success?
Day 12: What chore do you find the most challenging to do?
I found writing everyday to be a chore and some days it wasn’t much fun.
I have this blog to write about things, ideas or topics that amuse me, interest me or maybe I’ll just ramble on about nothing much. With the Bloganuary challenge, I felt a little forced to write about their prompts many of which I’d never choose to write about.
I was using the Bloganuary challenge to help get in the habit of blogging regularly, but every day isn’t an achievable goal for me. One or twice a month is more my level of frequency.
I failed the challenge but realised this is my blog and need to write about things that interest me.
Take Care
Mike
