As we’re in Lockdown again here in the UK and I’m a bit bored. I thought I’d post some of the Covid-19/lockdown songs which I’d found on YouTube that had amused me.
I especially like the 3rd song on the playlist by Stephen Paul Taylor. For some reason, I get a Pet Shop Boys vibe from it.
It’s Saturday night, I’m single, still youngish and I’ve just been paid. I should be out painting London town red! Instead I find myself on YouTube watching music mashup videos.
Here’s some of the best ones I’ve found. The Stevie Wonder Uptight mashup with the Clash’s Rock The Casbah is brilliant.
Here’s a happy little video from Northern Soul Girl, aka If This Is Lev, aka Levanna McLean. In it, she’s seen dancing in a Northern Soul fashion down Broad Street in Staple Hill Bristol to a mashup of Pharrell Williams song Happy, and the Velvet Hammers song of the same name. (Personally, I like the Velvet Hammer song)
If you can watch this video without smiling, especially when the old guy joins in, I suggest you seek medical attention, as you’re obviously losing your senses.
