50 Years of Snaps — Gone in a Crunch

This is not what I expected to write today but sometimes news/events are too massive to ignore. The news I read today shocked me to the core, took me back to happy childhood memories and tore those memories to shreds. (Ok, that’s a bit dramatic)

This is difficult to write so I’m just going to blurt it out.

Walkers are discontinuing Smith’s Snaps!

Snaps — the delicious spicy tomato crisps — are no more. Walkers in their wisdom has decided to discontinue 50 years of tongue-tangy brilliance.

PepsiCo, owners of Walkers, said: “Smith’s Tomato Snaps have had a great run and will always hold a special place in our history, but evolving our portfolio allows us to focus on making more of the brands and flavours people love.”

My fellow Snappers, fans of Snaps (ok I just made that fan name up) have started an online petition in the hope of convincing Walkers to reverse their decision. I’m not hopeful this petition will be successful but we can’t let Snaps go without a fight.

If you enjoy a cheeky packet of Snaps or have fond childhood memories of them, please sign the petition here.

Join the fight, Snappers Unite!

Take Care,
Mike
