As the rain poured down in sheets, Maria huddled under her umbrella, trying to stay dry. She had been walking for hours, trudging through the flooded streets, determined to get home.
The storm had come out of nowhere, catching everyone off guard. The streets were empty, except for a few brave souls like Maria who had ventured out despite the weather.
Today’s Bloganuary prompt is Why do you write?
Well, it’s all about me.
Multiple things bring me joy. But excluding friends & family, what couldn’t I live without that brings me joy.
Music. It brings me joy every day.
Compromise has seemingly been lost.
Footballification is a term coined by radio presenter James O’brien to describe the way that the blind, unquestioning loyalty of football fans has been transferred to political figures & parties. This footballification leads to absolute belief in our political beliefs, and our favourite politicians, for example, the Brexit referendum, Boris Johnson or Donald Trump.
One of my first memories is my 4th birthday party. It was a joint party with my Brother whose birthday is close to mine.
I distinctly remember this photo being taken by my Father. My Mother who was out of shot told me & my Brother to make a wish and blow out the candles on our cakes.
